Streaming Triple J's
Breakfast with Tom & Alex as we speak.
There is honestly no greater happiness than that (:

Before I left, my Pop told me 'I'll always be thinking of you over there, so you need not ever feel lonely.' & I love that. I think it's quite possibly the truest words of wisdom that I received in all my goodbye letters. (Well of course, other than the blatantly obvious 'truths' in my brother's letter, entitled 'Reasons you're going to miss me'.)

But the concept of homesickness is a funny thing.
I truly believe you can have more than one home,
More than two, more than three, more than fifty-seven.
Home can be not only a place, but a person,
or a word, a thought, a song, an idea.
& we're forever going to be missing that.
Homesickness is merely nostalgia in disguise.

It's a strange feeling,
Missing this imaginary place that is 'home'.
It creeps up on you slowly.
Beginning of course, with the silly little things.

I'm homesick for Drum Media, for Triple J.
For chip burgers at Big Chiefs & my shitty little 89' Corolla.
For friday nights at Fiddler, Schnitzel rolls from Charlie's,
& my constant unwarranted contempt for Phriction.
I'm homesick for that week I spent in Byron Bay,
For the Santa Claus convention at the Snoopy hotel
And for my year 10 maths class.

I'm homesick for things I'd been missing already,
So what's another year?
Nostalgia feels the same no matter what the time zone.

(:
