I feel like I'm at summer camp.
We had an international sing-a-long yesterday.
The only Aussie, I didn't have the balls to sing on my own.
But I think I did my country proud
by getting everyone to sing the Aussie Jingle Bells with me (:

We toured NYC today.
The fashions of 5th Ave,
The diamond district,
Lower Manhattan,
Ground zero,
Everything.

We even climbed the Rockefeller Tower,
Where you could look directly out across the city
to see the Empire State Building & the entirety of Central Park.
Then took the ferry across to Staten Island,
passing right in front of the Statue of Liberty.
& there was a divine moment while we were out on the harbour,
when I could have sworn I was back home on the Manly ferry.
All cities look the same from a distance.

Camp ends tomorrow morning
when we board the buses to go to our new families.
I'm actually going to be sad to leave this place.
There are fireflies at night
and I haven't gotten to know the cute German boy
quite as much as I would have liked!

Oh well, such is life they say.
Or until tomorrow, so ist das Leben.
