We rented a (what turned out to be) luxurious big white Camary, Toyota. Compared to the lawn mower we had in NZ, it was a treat. AND there was even radio reception. Result.
Drove up the coast from Sydney to just below Forster and met up with the Adrian and Kirsty, Nigel and the rest of the gang. When we arrived at the house, Lisa called Adrian who said they were all on the beach so come on down!
We got to Bluey's Beach and were amazed first by how pink everyone was and then the water which was unbelieveably clear! We were famished so ran back to get a quick burger and beer -- then back to the beach
Back to the house and set up camp in the back yard. It was sheer bliss...nice carpet-like lawn. The pegs went right in the ground (we often end up camping in gravel pits...with cement thrown in. you wouldn't believe the state of our pegs.) and I must say looked rather impressive back there.
The night was wicked. First adventures at the local Lawn Bowling club (we were too late to bowl, but killer pool and darts was in the cards...) Lots of beer, wine and what have you! Late night dancing and lots of pictures taken. Was just like beach week in University. Got to know the gang and really enjoyed hanging out with them. I crashed at about 5 -- but a few people pushed through the night...
So, the hangover.
First the sleep was amazing. Perfect temperature and everything. Until the sun came up. And slowly stewed us until we had to get out of that tent! I was not happy that it was 830am either.
Lisa seemed ok, but I was mostly worried about the large pounding that was going on in my head! I managed to make it to a couch -- and it was basically my job to make sure that the couch didn't try to get up and get away.
Lisa and Nigel went Kayaking and had a blast. I managed a negative grunt when I was invited to go.
More beaching, Kayaking, Lawn Bowling and generally having a great time with fun and different people. Really happy we were invited up!
