The last days in South America!

Returned to Buenos Aires from Santa Rita with our driver -- yes we now have a driver, Pepe. I was exhausted, mostly from all of the eating, but there was a bit of horse riding and swimming in the mix as well. Apparently, my nodding off to sleep scared Pepe, and he kept a watchful eye on me.

Felt like locals coming back to Bauen Hotel. Amazing that the place is always rocking with conventions, concerts, or the odd male ´dancing´ shows. They even saved our room for us.

Met up Pablo and Negro at Mundo Bizarro in Palmero again and had several stiff drinks. Managed to sneak out, and not embarrass myself too much with the man-kissing this time. So was an early night -- in bed by 3:30. (!)

Fri 3rd
Spent the day searching for a Ne Zealand Guide book (14 bookstores). And trying to sort out how the heck to arrange the flight to Bora Bora before we book the hotel.

Neither accomplished.

So went to the drug store and spent loads on aspirin, sunscreen, pepto, etc...was such a treat.

Managed to have another super diner at Gran Taberna on this side of town -- with a lovely bottle Malbec...dessert, chicken, pork, meatballs, whiskey, another bottle of wine...all 18gbp. I am soooo gonna miss this food!

Sat 4th
Met up with Lisa´s friend Chris for coffee in the morning -- he just got back into BA from Urugay and was heading back to London in the afternoon. He seemed to have an amazing time...and pretty full tilt! Impressive stuff!!

Continued the NZ Guide search. Back across town, but no luck. Then way back to Boca to pick up the two pieces of art we liked, then cab to Alto Palmero for lunch at 4. Abado (BBQ) of thick flank steak. Went inside to see the huge pit where the meat roasts...would almost make me hungry thinking about again if I weren´t still so full!

Back to the hotel and tried to mail the art...might have worked or might have paid so guy to take it and resell it. I say 60% it shows up in Virginia and 40% on Ebay. I like those odds.

Now I am calling Tahiti every 30 minutes because no one picks up the phone at Air Tahiti to try to book that flight we need. They are probably all out checking the plane to make sure it is safe...
