The tree in the picture is said to be up to 2000 years old, but I have real doubts about the claim.  The sycamore tree that Zacchaeus climbed is not the sycamore we know about in the US, rather it is a kind of fig called Ficus sycomorus.  Its fruit is edible and significant uses in desert climates in the ancient near east.  Even Amos was called a dresser or tender of the fruit (Amos 7:14).  But the tree is most famed for a hated little man in the town of Jericho who climb a sycamore tree to see Jesus.  That day Zacchaeus the hated tax collector would have his life radically changed by Jesus, and his response to Jesus proved his the change of heart.  Zacchaeus' Tree is the story that Jesus has the power to turn even the most harden heart and make it alive to the righteousness of God.
