g'day all just a quick update we are in the highlands and looking for Nessie talk soon Hugs all Stewart and Nancy

G'day All,
Back on track we are in Aviemore another beautiful highlands village, on the way to it we stopped off at Newtonmore a village that has the oldest collection of Scotish dwellings and an ancient village as they percieved how they lived in the early 15th century, living in peat and mud houses it was fasinating to see how they lived an how they would of coped with the winters and summers.

The following day was magnificant so we decided to get the Funicular cable car up to the top of Cairn Gorm mountain this is a heritage listed area and only people with permission can walk on the top if it as it has such delicate soil that a shoe can lossen the soil causing it to get blown away and never to be replace, you had spectacular views from the top of this mountain looking down the Valley(glen)the day ended with us touring around this lovely area seeing a lot of winding roads and small hamelts, the area is popular with walkers hm thats all they do here in the summer is walk walk and walk more but each to their own.
The following day was not as nice drizzly rain so we decided to take a Steam train trip and have a look at some country side as it was raining we decided to just go and look from the train came back into the village and have a wander around there. I think bill was dissapointed in his non walking Sister and her partner because they seem to think walking in the rain is fun. I have a toothache so went to see the dentist on the way out of town on our way to Aberlour, was informed sorry you are not registered so can't see you for 2 weeks i said i have a bad tooth ache and was looked on as if i did not hear her so she sighed and said sorry can book you in in 2 weeks, don't worry about i said and walked out mumbling something about when u come to oz i hope you get a toothache and you are turned away sheesh, so today we are off to Aberlour.
hugs Stewart and Nancy.

Hello All,
This is Trevor the roving cold reporter, hm I think i got used to the heat in oz and look forward to the time i spend in his bag nice and cosy, well another town and another wet spot on the map but we have been lucky as every time we stop to take a captian cook ( a look) the rain abates and is only overcast and cold, well we went and had a look at some Folk Village in a town called Newtonmore a pretty little place an the village was interesting but the highlight was going into an old village that they were redoing the smell of the peat fires was stong and when we went inside a mud brick house it was not very warm even tho they had the fire going.
It would of been very cold for these people in the winter but i suppose with the animal skins and furs they may have been warm or thats why they always had fights as this was the only way to stay warm.
The next day dawned sunny and clear so we went mountain climbing well Stewart did i stayed in the bag till they hauled me out on the top of this cold mountain and said "hey trevor look down there" well that was the wrong thing to do I know us squirrels climb big trees but man not this high my nose was bleeding and my ears popping and my tail was frezzing sheesh then they had the nerve to shove me over near the edge and say smile and took my picture not a good look my hair was all messy my tail hairs were in a knot and i had no makeup on.
we then went back down and I was saying "hey when are we going to have another wee dram or ten", Stewart said "shut up people will hear you" and i had a good laugh as the little boy standing next to him said " I did not say a word Mister are you crazy" and he then walked nearer his mum who was giving stewart the evil eye, lets see him explain to her that he was talking to a stuffed Squirrel hm did i say stuffed i am not i have not been fed for days so am actually hungry any one got some nuts i buried mine and now can't waddle very well.
We then went on a train that made a lot of noise and have some smoke coming out of it they seemed to enjopy it but the stink was a bit rich for me so i stayed in the bag and slept, well i had better go and hide in his bag again as he mumbled something about another whiskey distillery tomorrow. Hoo Roo all
hugs Trevor

Trip of a Lifetime
Wow you three, what an awesome trip. Reading with interest all the places you have been and wonderful pics you have taken. So very glad Trevor has enjoyed but I do think he should get rid of the scarf as well..he can get a new one when he gets home. I am afraid he will not be satisfied being back home with me after being a world traveller. I will just have to take him on the cruise to the Caribbean in Dec...a little Speedo swimsuit in order Ithink. Huggss Stewart and Nancy..looking forward to Sept when you are here and I can chat to you !!! Cheryl
