Where I stayed

We're now on the next stage of our travelling.... three nights in Singapore and then we start exploring South East Asia.

We thought that the best way to see Singapore in such a short time period would be to go on the Hippo Hop On/Hop Off Tourist Bus around all the attractions. It's a great way to see the city and as the name suggests, you can get on and off as many times as you like, and if you stay on the bus the route lasts about two hours.

Throughout the day we saw the F1 pits and track, the Singapore Flyer, The Merlion, the new Hylix Bridge, the new casino, loads of shopping areas, Botanical Gardens, Government buildings, Opera house, Chinatown, Little India and the Arab Quater. We did stay on the bus for most of the trip but I had heard that the Botanical Gardens were very beautiful so we got off to have a little walk around. It was a really good day and it had stayed dry until there was about half hour left of the bus ride when the heavens open a massive thunder storm came out of no where. We were on the open top deck with the rain lashing in from all directions and nothing but a Fitness First umberella to keep us dry. After returning to the Hippo base, we had a little look around the massive Suntec Shopping Mall.... all six towers of it.

The next day we decided to explore things by foot so that we could get a closer look at things. We walked around for hours looking at the buildings and sites but as midday hit, so did the sun and my goodness it was hot.... it made the walking unbareable. We ducked and dived for shade where ever we could.

We really enjoyed Singapore, every where is so clean, the food is great and the people are so friendly.
