Due to a busy weekend caused by Mardi Gra (gay and lesbian parade) our booking at The Maze got messed up so we booked ourselves into The Globe at King Cross. This area is mainly for backpackers, The Navy and also it's a bit of a red light district although you didn't really see any.
Kings Cross isn't massive but we had a good walk around and saw three big naval ships... we think that one ship was just getting ready to leave and other two had just got back. We didn't really do much as there isn't much to do. We grabbed some dinner and then decided to walk back into the city.
We walked through Hyde Park and past a big beautiful catherdal. As we were walking through I heard a funny noise which to me didn't sound like a bird, so I stopped to have a look and low and behold I saw a massive Fox Bat, not just one of them but hundreds of them. I was fasinated by them and couldn't stop looking which annoyed Sam as he wanted to carry on walking as he didn't much like the Fox Bats. The bats did look a bit freaky though as they were circling the Catherdral Towers. Apparantly Australia are trying to get rid of the bats as they are damaging the trees etc but they keep on coming back no matter how hard the Aussies try.
After we finished our walk, we headed back The Globe Hostel and chilled out.
