So today is the big move! Well it's not such a big move I guess since we aint got that much stuff but looking at it all now I wonder where all these things have come from. Of course we have bought a few things for the new house; kettle (the most essential thing along with cups), toaster, kitchen utilities, blow up air bed to sleep on, pillows, a sheet and quilt, clothes rail and a few other things we need to start us off. Yet we still seem to have collected so much on our travels without really buying anything if that makes sense.

We are up around 7am and since we did everything last night there is not much to do but make a cup of tea and sit and wait for the removal people who are picking up a sofa we have been given first then coming here for us, well Ben as I am off to get the keys for the new house and will meet them there. We have also bought a new fridge/freezer and a massive LCD 42 inch TV which are being delivered this morning too. The washer will be here tomorrow.

I forgot we also bought new bikes to get around on. Ben has been borrowing Linc's to get to work and really needs his own and I need one too which will help keep me fit though often in this heat I really can't be bothered and besides its not as flat as Cairns was!!!

Its raining a little outside as I navigate my way to the nearest station, just missing a train but another soon arrives and it don't take long for me to be at the house out of breath after trying my damdest to cycle up the hill, failing miserably eventually getting off and walking. Jim is at the house with the keys and the house is just perfect, well it needs a little paint here and there (why is it you never notice these things till you actually move in) but it will be ok for now. We love it especially the pool though the garden is a little dead but there is a water shortage at present so it can't be helped.

Already I am board! Ben phones to say the removal people haven't turned up yet (it's nearly 10am and they were supposed to be here half an hour ago but there is little else we can do but wait and wait. I call Ben to see if there is any sign of them and he tells me everything is sorted and they will be with me soon. As I put the phone down and walk to the front door the van pulls up outside; wow that was bloody quick! Time of course is money so we get everything out as quickly as we can and Ben arrives to help. The removal people were so nice and told us loads of ways we can get free furniture as well as secondhand stuff. It's gonna take a while to get sorted but we will get there in the end.

Even with our tiny amount of possessions the house looks huge, well I guess it is but it looks even bigger empty. Anyway first things first 'get that bloody kettle on' Ben shouts as we start to unpack a few things. Ben fixes up the TV unit and sets to setting up the speakers and the bargain media centre computer thing we got a few weeks ago. I guess I better tell you how we came about this; well most Saturdays we just jump on a train or bus to a different shopping centre so we can check out all the different suburbs and this particular Saturday we'd been to one which was crap so we jumped back on the train and went to another. The shopping centre is centered on a fairly new housing area and it looks quiet posh even if it is a way out. The shopping centre is really nice but there are also a few other shops scattered around one of which is Cash Converters (Bens fav shop). I hate it and think they are such a rip of in any country but I guess occasionally you can find a great bargain which is what we did this day. We saw this home media centre and it looked pretty amazing priced at $800 (about 340 English pounds) so after Ben had a good look at it we bought it took it to a computer shop had it checked over and they said it was the dogs bollocks and worth well over $3000!!! The guy in the shop offered us a grand for it. Ben of course said 'no way' this is now his new toy and once we have got broadband put in we will be able to chat on MSN with web cam just using our TV and this media centre.

I know I went of on a tangent then. So where was I oh yes time for a cup of tea? I keep wondering around the house it is just so big and bare! The phone rings and it's the lady from the shop where we bought the TV and fridge/freezer from. I asked for a morning delivery but they won't be here till 3.30pm so we won't be doing much today but hanging around and waiting. We can't even go in the pool cause it keeps raining a little even though the sun is still shining.

We wait and wait and wait and wait. Ben fixes up everything he can, I start sorting out the kitchen and Jim lends us a dinning table and chairs form the 1960s it's so retro.

3.30pm comes and goes and we wait and wait and wait. Finally at 5.30pm the TV and fridge/freezer arrives. Of course the priority is setting up the TV so I leave Ben to it. I plug in the fridge/freezer and it trips the electric. I plug it in again and it does the same so we figure maybe something is wrong with the electric but we can't do any thing about it tonight as it is too late now so we ride down to the fish and chip shop for tea and a few bits from the shop, come back home and settle down to a night of TV.

Off to see Little Britain Live on Thursday night so that should be fun!

To be continued. . . . .
