When we arrived last night the only beds they had were in male/female dorms so I shared a room with 3 other girls, in a comfy single bottom bunk while Ben & Brian were put in a male dorm. It is the first night Ben and I have spent apart in more than 16 months; Ben didn't sleep a wink, I slept like a log!!

I dragged my self out of bed at 7.30am. Both of them are already down stairs waiting; no surprises there then.

After a quick shower we stop off for a little stroll along mission beach and some breakfast just having enough time to take a few picks then get back on the road.

Today's journey is much less eventful so I won't be writing much. We passed field after field, saw a few of skippie's family hoping along the side of the road and a few that could no longer hop! We passed through small towns and villages and finally stopped in Townsville for lunch and a quick wonder around a shopping centre just to stretch our legs.

We arrive in Airlie Beach about the same time as the Grey Hound Bus and scramble into the nearest backpackers for a bed. They are full. He asks if I am Kylie I say 'no I'm Rosey but I can be Kylie if you like.' He says he has a room on hold for Kylie and if she is not here in 10 mins we can have it. We get a coffee from next door and pray that Kylie won't turn up. Our prayers are answered, the room is ours and as we head off up stairs I'm sure Kylie walked in with her two mates.

We dump our bags, put phones on charge and cameras too then go for a wonder. We had hoped to go diving in the Whit Sundays but most of the boats went out today being Monday and Brian doesn't like the idea of spending a few nights on a boat. We have food which no one is happy with (Chinese) and get an early night.

Once again Ben is up at some unearthly hour, Brian follows suit and I want to kill the pair of them as I didn't sleep a wink due to a light shinning in the room and Ben trying to suffocate me. I drag myself out of bed into the shower trying to wake up; we have breakfast and decide we will take a ferry over to Day Dream Island for the day as some one said it is really nice.

It is an average day. We've been to so many islands like this so I guess it isn't anything special and I know I'm still a bit pissed that we are not gonna get to spend a few days sailing round the Whit Sundays. The only thing that saves the day is the snorkeling at Lovers Cove. There are plenty of fish which chase Ben and his bright yellow fins constantly; we figure the guy who feeds them for the tourists wears the same fins. Fish are not as stupid as people think!

If you've been following our travels you will know that Brian's first experience of snorkeling was in Thailand (Phuket) when we went on a day trip to 'The Beach.' It took for ever to get him in and now it takes for ever to get him out!

After a couple of hours Ben & I have had enough so we sit on the beach and watch Brian with his life jacket on having the time of his life. We did take the waterproof camera but we are still having problems with the chip so we missed out on quite a few great pics and the sea is murky in places.

We have coffee and a late lunch next to the out door aquarium taking a pics of nemo and dori amongst other fishes before jumping on the ferry to take us back. We have all caught too much sun and look a little lobster pink to say the least.

Back on Arlie we just manage to catch a stunning sunset before having dinner which again was crap; them two order lasagna which is burnt to a crisp, they send it back, my coffee is cold and the free garlic bread they give us is shit. We give up and go for a little walk down to the lagoon which is not anywhere near as nice as the one in Cairns. Ben & Brian play at the children's play ground being the big kids they really are.

It's time for bed as we plan to set of early in the morning to Rockhampton.

To be continued. . . . .
