So Bill, Lynn, Sheila and Des arrived on Friday 13th after having spent time in Perth, Ayres Rock and Alice Springs. We were waiting at their hotel for them when their coach pulled up at about 6pm. It took forever for them to get off the bloody thing and within minutes of hugging and saying hello the eight months since we had last seen them in India instantly disappeared!

We leave them to get organized and say we'll be back in an hour to go out for dinner at the Cock & Bull which is just round the corner. We dropp our bikes off at home and walk back round to their hotel which is just a few streets away from where we are living. The first question Des asks us is 'where's the hospital?' we point across and down the road. Des & Lynn have both been bitten on the arm while in the outback and Des' arm looks really bad while Lynn's don't look too bad. So we badgered them both into calling at the hospital just to be on the safe side as they are not sure what they have been bitten by. They go straight to A&E and we go to the Cock & Bull expecting them to turn up in an hour or so but they never did. We have a couple of beers and chat away then Ben walks round to the hospital to find out if they will be back in time for dinner. When he gets back we decid we should just eat and then walk round to the hospital to see them.

So after too much food and a few beers Sheila & I walk to the Hospital while Bill & Ben (ha ha)called at the shop to get some sandwich stuff for Des & Lynn as they missed dinner. As soon as we leave the pub it pisses it down and by the time we get to A&E we are drenched and there is no sign of Des or Lynn in reception. We are finally allowed in to visit them on the ward and some guy says Des has to stay in over night which of course he wasn't too happy about while Lynn managed to get away with a bottle of antibiotics. However tomorrow they are supposed to be going on a trip to Green Island which of course they can no longer go on as we are unsure what time Des will be let out of hospital. I kind of feel a bit guilty for them missing out on the trip but like I said its better to be safe than sorry and at least they can get on and enjoy the rest of the holiday without any worry. We eventually got home around midnight and went straight to bed.

Saturday we are down at their hotel at 9am and Des has already been let out so we decide to walk down the Esplanade to show them around stopping off for coffee at Coffee Bean of course. Leigh who we met in Koh Tao arrived here in Cairns in the early hours of this morning so we have arranged to meet him today too and we finally caught up with him around lunch time. The afternoon was spent in the pub drinking a few beers and catching plenty of sun! In the evening we all finally got to eat at the Cock & Bull then just chilled while having a few beers and chatting about anything and everything.

Ben was working on Sunday and had to get up at 4.30am as he is off up to Palm Cove to set up some tents for some kind of Gala which is on up there today. He got back around lunch time went to bed then had to go back at 5pm. Meanwhile Bill & Co went on the Sky Rail and train ride over and around the Rain Forrest so I arranged to meet them for dinner again at the Cock & Bull with Leigh and Ben eventually arrived much later. We didn't have too much of a late night and haven't yet decided what to do tomorrow.

I cannot believe it is Monday already and our last day with Bill & Co. We decided to spend the day or part of it at the Zoo and for $25 each it was well worth it. It's not your typical zoo with lions and tigers it's full off tropical birds, crocs, kangaroos and cute koala bears. The animal interaction is by far the best I've ever known. We got to feed kangaroos, hold a baby croc and of course we couldn't leave without having our picture taken with a kola bear. On the way back we called at the supermarket and bought everything we needed to have a BBQ & a few beers, whisky and wine so we can enjoy a really chilled out night looking at photos and chatting about our travels around the world.

I can't believe they are leaving already they have only just got here! It's been amazing to see Bill & Lynn again and I know our paths will cross some where in the world in the near future even if it is back home in England but until then we will cherish the memories we have from Cairns and add them to our memories of Goa. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your holdiday Bill & Co look forward to seeing you again. Check out the pics - I'm sure that was Chubby Brown in that hat shop!!

Gotta give a big shout out to Sarah Wigham their granddaughter who we met in Goa but wasn't able to come to Oz - thank you for keeping up with our travels and I'm sure we will catch up with you again one day - we really missed you this time - you would have loved it here (sorry shouldn't really put that should I)!

To be continued. . . . .
