E wasn't feeling too well last night, so G & I decided to let him and C sleep while we took our little road trip to Rhode Island. The car rental location was around the corner from E&C's apartment, and we were given a Jeep Liberty for the price of a mid-size car. While driving in NYC is notoriously stressful, it seems that Miami is a good training city for horrid driving, because G kicked butt on the road. The rental car came equipped with Sirius and an E-Z Toll Pass, which made my job as "The Navigatrix" nice and easy.

Once we were on my beloved I-95, I realized just how long I've been in NYC, because I saw some trees and started taking pictures...of trees. I started reminiscing about palm trees and put on the Miami traffic station on satellite radio just to hear some news from home. Once we were surrounded by trees on either side, G asked me if I wanted to look for the Blair Witch. Oddly enough, I declined.

After a great visit with family, we made our way back to NYC. E&C took us to Spanish Harlem. We headed to a jazz club that was half-dead, and then decided to take our very first taxi ride of the entire trip to the west side of Harlem. Turns out it's not so easy to convince a cabbie to stop for four people in Harlem. When we finally got into a cab, the driver changed the radio station from hip-hop to easy listening where a DJ named Dillon was giving away Sting tickets. This guy was totally ruining our street cred!

We visited the Lenox Lounge and passed by the Apollo Theater before deciding to call it a night. G hailed his first cab and ended up hailing two at the same time. Movie magic follows him wherever he goes.
