We left Sioux Falls this morning and drove to see the world's only corn palace. It was quite amazing as you can see by the photos. All the design the building on the outside and the murals inside are made of cobs of corn, local grasses and grains. Built in 1892, every year the designs are changed. It uses 3000 bushels of corn. Later we visited the Prehistoric Indian Village and Archdome outside of town. This is a site of an archaeological dig. There is a full size reproduction of an earthen lodge. There is a research centre built over a portion of the remains of the village.

We followed I90 west through more corn fields that gradually were replaced by hayfields, prairie range land with black angus beef cattle, fields of wheat and sunflowers. After we crossed the Missouri River the land is much more rolling hill terrain. It was very hot again today. We stopped to camp at Murdo.
