After arriving in Sudbury on Thursday, we spent time visiting Brian's sister Bridget and her family. Our niece Jenny is impatiently awaiting the birth of her first child, a boy who is due any time now. We had a lovely supper with our niece Arlena and her mom.

We left Sudbury shortly after 9:00 am and drive west along the trans Canada highway 17. We had lunch in Blind River at a lovely park that was sponsored by the Lion’s Club. We were able to dump our tanks and refill our fresh water tank. The bridge between at Sault Ste Marie and the Soo Michigan was backed up considerably. Traffic was moving at a snail’s pace, requiring almost two hours to cross the bridge and clear US customs.

We enjoyed a beautiful drive along the western shore of Lake Michigan. Much of the landscape is relatively flat similar to driving across the Canadian prairies, but with bush in most areas. There are a few small communities with modest homes. We arrived at a Wal Mart in Escanaba MI near 9:00 and found several other RVers with the same intentions as us. We were happy to call it a day and get some well deserved rest.
