It was a long day of driving. We left Regina in early morning and passed through more prairie land and wheat fields into Manitoba. We drove through fields of wheat, some harvested and some awaiting harvest. We saw a few fields of corn, sunflowers, potatoes and one large field of cabbages. We passed around Winnipeg on the bypass. East of Winnipeg we started to get into forested area. We left the four lane highway close to the Ontario border and continued on to Kenora where we arrived after dark. We encountered two deer and a snapping turtle on the highway in the forested area of Manitoba.
