First we headed off to the third largest Roman colleseum in the world Called El Djem. Its where they filmed recent Gladiator movie. Then we headed off to the region of Matmata. We visited a troglodyte house (Man made caves in the 'Stony Desert') People dwell here all year round. This region is where all the Star Wars movies where shot. This was of great intrest to some people but i loved it for the amazing expance of what looks like wasteland holds such a community.
Off into our bus again and head off to Douz the southern most town (although they called it a city) before the Sahara! We got out here and did an hour and a halfs ride around the small dunes... I have to say i loved camel riding.... we then headed off to a hotel which was absolutely beautiful with the most amazing decoration... exhausted we collapsed into bed...a few glasses of wine down the hatch!
