We left about 11:30AM and headed South on 99. Rose got us down to I40 for some gas and Mark took over. Mostly it was two lane roads so we had to watch every second. The little dogs rode OK in their little dog box on the table, but Ike had a hard time. He just wasn't into it at all. Once or twice we had to pass truck on a narrow bridge and for the seconds it took for the two huge vehicles to pass was very exciting. Rose took the drivers seat for the last half and it was just one little town after another. We got into the campground about 3:30 and asked for a pull through. We found a nice one. Not much to setting up. A water hook up and an electric cord. Then it was just some relaxing for Mark. Rose did some shopping at the campground flea market. She wanted a mascot for the motor home. She found a little stuffed bear a Boyd's Bear in mint condition for only a dollar. A real bargain at only a dollar. That night, in honor of our first dinner cooked in the motor home Rose cooked mousssakas sort of a Greek casserole with eggplant. She used ever pot and pan in the kitchen and even had to borrow a cup of milk. It was very good. The next morning Mark had a problem to solve- no hot water. We tried all kinds of switches and valves wait and still no hot water. Rose figured out we had a valve in the wrong place. At least we know now that you can't heat up the water heater without water in the tank the safety interlocks won't let you. About 3:00PM a salesman came for us. We didn't have to pay money for the campsite, but it wasn't exactly free, either. The fine print said we had to listen to a 90 minute presentation all about club membership. Mark called this being squeezed. Anyway after about 4 hours we were the proud owners of a new campground membership. Now we can camp free when ever we want. We left on Monday morning and took the same route back home. This time it didn't seem so bad. We just took our time and let the other cars pass us. We needed gas so we depended on our GPS. It took us well off the main highway to a little town. No gas station where there was supposed to be one, but we found the only one in town and it was almost too small for a motor home. We thought about the way the motor home felt sort of the personality and decided it felt like being inside a loving mother who took all good care of us. so we named the motor home Large Marge.
