Horrible Horrible Horrible Surat!!!  Thankfully only an overnight stay while we wait for our connecting rain down to Goa.  Had trouble finding a hotel - looked at several cockroach infested overpriced dumps before finally finding somewhere that looked like it wouldn't eat us alive while we slept!  Ordered room service as too nervous to venture out again in the dark - and had to suffer half an hour of the hotel staff barging in and out of our room every five minutes - just knocking and then walking straight in - very very annoying!

Very pleased to find our train on time the next day so we could leave and head to the sunshine of Goa.  15 hour train journey lies ahead, but were getting to be old hands with the train now and quite look forward to the bonkers world of Sleeper class!
