I opened a Chinese fortune cookie recently to find "Our truest life is when we are in our dreams awake."  Wow...just what I have been dreaming of...to wake up one day and to realize that my dream has become reality!   Too cool!  To digress, transoceanic voyage has been a dream of mine ever since I read "Christopher Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue" back in fourth grade.  It was a book-of-the-month club book that would later change my life.  Now retired, it looks like I want to revert back to my childhood dreams.  Be careful what you read!

It was with jubilation that I just received my ticket & embarkation package from Star Clippers.  By the way...I almost forgot to mention...only 21 days before I am in my dream awake!

Perhaps you would enjoy listening to novels of a 19th century capain in the British Royal Navy who sailed all over the world. Think of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World some years back. Patrick O'Brian is the author and really puts you on the ship.

If you like Michener try "Hawaii" it is a classic.

I recommend reading "The Happy Hooker" -- it changed my life! Elaine sent it to me in college.
