Hi everyone
Its been ages since our last news and i am having difficulty with french keyboards.
Since our last news we spent a lovely few days in the Cotswolds with friends eating too much as usual and exploring the delightful countryside. The spring blossoms were out but I didnt see any squirrels to my great disappointment.
We then flew to Biarritz and explored the coastline and the old town. We had q little difficulty finding reverse in our hire car but finally managed to get on our way and not disappear off the cliffs. Quite a problem managing to keep on the right side of the road but we havent cut too heavy a swathe through the french and spanish population.
Coastline to Bilbao was better than the great ocean road in victoria - soaring cliffs; rock formations, emerald green meadows full of spring flowers.
Guggenheim in Bilbao was truly spectacular and we hope our photos can do it justice.
Spanish food was a little disappointing - couldnt find any tapas bars and they eat way too late for us with most restaurants not opening until after 8.30 pm
Since then we have crisscrossed the Spanish-French border throughout the Pyrenees - going over some stunning mountain passes, some of which we found closed after we reached the snowline - signage was a problem. Yesterday we walked to the largest waterfall in Europe set in a natural amphitheatre comprising at least 10 3500m high snowcapped peaks.
Today we picked Chris up at Toulouse airport and we are again heading south towards Andorra and the French mediterranean coast.
Au revoir for now
Looking forward to the Canal du Midi next week

Spain holiday
Hi Viv and Ron, Sorry to hear there were no tapas and I suddenly realised why they eat so late - siesta time makes for a long lunch and an even later dinner!! Hope next half of your trip is as much fun as the first. Lots of love to you both from Di
