Where I stayed
Ar Rodiyah Orphanage
Today I went to University Ikip with my roommate, Aini. I went to her clsses, her classmates and teachers are all very friendly and kind. I have also made friends with Iim, a friend of Aini's friend. I went to her high school with her, met 4 of her teachers and another volunteer from England. They all very kind, and gave me a lot of infomation about travel in Indonesia. I was also invited for their Boarding school's play. It was amazing!!!!!!!
Tomorrow would be a Muslin host's daughter's wedding, so the kids of Ar Rodiyah Orphanage was invited to go, so did I. I am not Muslin, so I cannot go into the pray room, but had to wait outside. I saw them put another layer of pray dress on after they cleaned their head and feet, and then follow the host's instruction to pray.
Then we are invited to the host's house for another pray in Arabic, and this time I could go in and take pictures. The introduction was pretty long, the only sentence I understood was "Welcome miss Ronnie from New Zealand!" I was surprised that he can speak English so well! Then it's their pray last for about 2 hours, I was taking photos.
After pray finished, the host provided food for us and gave everyone a cake, and his daughter gave money to the kids of Ar Rodiyah Orphanage. The kids were sooo happy, and so was I. It was the first time I have ever experienced such event, feel hournered.
