Had a long day today. I (Susie) drove over 600km (572 and 33) in a little Fiat (very rough on the road and hard on the shoulder on gear changes) from Tours to Aeropuerto De San Sebastian to pick up our Spanish car and then back to Aeroport Biarritz-Anglet Bayonne to drop off the Fiat in France. We made regular stops at Service Stations/Road Cafes along the freeway. The coffee and food in them is appalling and expensive.

We then drove to Pau (Ron is the driver now) in our new Citroen C4. A very nice car, very smooth ride except for Ron's gear changes or lack of!

There are tolls on all the main freeways in France and Spain. The ones you pay on entrance are usually 1.20-3.60 Euros but the ones where you take a ticket and then pay when you get off are devastating, We paid 19.50 and 31.60 Euros for those. It is still cheaper than the train or aeroplane. Tolls today: France 19.50 31.60 3.60 1.60 1.20 Spain 2.60 1.80 1.80 1.10x2 1.60x2 (x2 for 2 cars).

Our phone sims are still not working. We are desperately missing Apple and Google Maps and we have no map of Pau. We got excellent directions from a lovely helpful pedestrian (woman of course) to get us in the right direction. It is 8pm.

We decided to stop at a bar for a well deserved meal and carafe of wine and use their free wifi to get our bearings with the Map App. It worked a treat. We were close enough to our destination that the complete map had downloaded along with audio instructions.

Another nice hotel thanks to Ron and bookings.com

We caught up with viber and emails. Dad is devastated over the injury news about Crows Forward Tex Walker.

Missing everyone.
