October 10, 2010 Sunday

I chose to “skip” the 8:30 am breakfast and go 9:00 am Mass at St. Mary’s Church which is a couple of blocks away. Ron said he’d go with me because he wanted to see what the inside of the Church looked like. We got there around 8:40 am and went inside. Nobody in the pews yet so Ron had a chance to take a look around and then immediately head back to the B&B and breakfast.

Folks started coming in right close to 9:00 am. What I was soon to discover was that the 9:00 am Mass today was going to be in Gaelic! I could follow along OK since the

Mass is the same the world over so that wasn’t a problem. Every once in awhile during the sermon, the priest would say something in English. By the time I realized that I only heard the last few words of what he said.

Arriving back at the B&B I found that Eileen had breakfast ready for me. I was very thankful for that since the next thing on our agenda was a hike uphill over a saddle between 2 hills and back down into a valley which led back to Dingle.. Another very nice hike with a great view of Dingle and the harbor plus the many fields with sheep and horses.

After arriving back in town we stopped to have beer and then headed back to the B& B for a bit before having lunch at Dano’s. After lunch we walked over to the harbor and walked along the path along the water’s edge. I talked Ron into doing a bit of shopping after that. He can only handle that in very short segments. :>)

Dinner tonight was at Murphy’s Pub. Good Pub food and beer as we’ve come to expect.. Ron and I headed down the street after we ate to find some Irish Music to listen to. Found a group of folks at the Marina Inn who were playing so we sat and listened in for a bit before heading back to the B&B.

Had another moment of reading what I expected to see and not what was actually there...you wrote "Ron said he would go with me because he wanted to see what the inside of the church looked like." I read it as: "Ron said he would go with me because he wanted to see what the inside of "A" church looked like." LOL!!!

Gaelic...did it make you think you were at a Latin Mass? HA!

Thanks for posting more pics...

Love,

Bev
