We got back to Drysdale River station (always a good spot to stop) before heading back to the Gibb River Road (GRR) and delights of this drive through the heart of the Kimberley.
Along the way checked the camping around Barnett Gorge - a couple of really good sites amongst the half dozen camps scattered along the creek - most being back from any water. The best one was still vacant so we called it quits for the day and set up camp amongst the paperbarks.
Next morning we headed for Mt Barnett where we refuelled and bought some supplies before wandering down to the camping area beside the Lower Manning Gorge - the camping area had a few people in it while there were only a couple of kids swimming there. The place was packed the day before we were told - it is a magical spot.
Went into Silent Grove and pushed on to Bell Gorge - there's no camping along the Bell Creek, while the parking area at the gorge has shifted, is larger and now has a toilets. The walk in to the falls is about 1km long downhill and then along the edge of the creek before getting to the top of the falls. There were a few people around and there was a fair amount of water flowing over the falls - which makes it even more impressive than normal.
