I am back again in Playa del Carmen! I had a fun time in Cozumel...but it was too quiet. No cruiseships were docked which means that the place is very very quiet. The first few days that I arrived I have been taking a rest...not doing much...reading a book close to the sea and I have visited and talked a bit with friends from the Subway fastfood place where I was last year. Met Eva and Wilbert again as well as their mom. Was fun meeting them again.
Then yesterday I rented a bike and biked to Parque Chankanaab (8km). I did not like it much...it is set up too touristic...like some resort entertainmentpark to leech out the money you might still have. It was possible to snorkel around there...but I guess I am quite spoiled in that regard and it did not do much to me.
As well it was possible to swim with captive dolphins for 75 dollar if you just wanted a swim or 125 dollar if you wanted to snorkel with them. There were about 8 basins where groups could go in to swim with the dolphins....I thought it to be quite an ugly commercial sight. Still...dolphins are playful animals...they might not even mind.
I bicycled back to the main city on Cozumel, San Miguel, and that was that.
So now I am back in Playa del Carmen....I think I will stay here for 3 more nights until I take the bus on Sept 10th to Mexico City (25 hours ride...ugh). That is it for today...hasta luego!
