Shalom ahi!!!
Hey I'm sorry for not posting in time, but although I have notthing to do in my project this last days I help in other projects (my water is not coming until monday in 2 weeks...-.-)
so but now to the desert trip:)
Last week on friday in the morning we went on an trip with some guys from the campus to do a hiking trip throght the judean desert (just insert this numbers 31.325458,35.325663 into google earth or maps.google.com).
we started in Masada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masada ; [31.315862,35.356094]) an acient fortress which was destroyed in one of the roman-jewish wars. It was quite a nice location but a huge bunch of turiusts:D korean, dutch, german and and and the interesting fact about that place is that 1000 habitants of that fortress (50% women and children) commited suicide when they realized that the falll of the defence was falling.
from there we hiked all the way down the snake path (45min) to get warm:)
after that we took our bus down to the dead sea [31.460854,35.404473]; a nice feeling standing on the lowest spot on earth (-400m).
But in my opinion it is not as nice as everyboy says....it was very smelly...stupid sulfur and the water is like oil...i can not understand what everybody likes about that place...ok you can take nice fotos but thats all:D
From there we went to our camping site in the judean desert near the canyon we would hike the next day.
The men put up the bonire and the women prepared th food an I took fotos;) waht a nice world;)
It was quite nice night no clouds and I slept outside....but the bad thning about the desert is that it get f*** cold in the night...but nevertheless it wasn't such a problem because we had to get up @ 5 o'clock for the hike.
