As the semester already draws towards a close its time to consider who I have spent the last months with. On the whole it is a very international group, we come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have many different interests. Things may have been a bit rough at first as we tried to figure out what each other were like but soon we learned to work and live together. There are 15 of us and we represent 12 different countries, the youngest is 25 and the oldest is 35.

USA-me
Korean-Yumi, Sueun, Kang
Mongolia-Uilst and Misheel
Vietnam-Khanh and Linh
Indonesia-Deni
Singapore-Ingrid
Pakistan-Abid
India-Chandu
Germany-Jochen
Spain-Almu
Italy-Martina
Bolivia-Vladi

Martina was the first person I met. We sat next to each other at registration and discovered while waiting and chatting that we were classmates. She is a great cook and always willing to sit and talk over a coffee in her room down the hall.

Almu also lives on my floor and equally welcoming of a mid morning coffee chat. There was a period where the three of us seemed to bump into each other a lot in the bathroom in the morning and subsequently end up chatting the morning away in someones room.

Ingird and I have probably spent the most time together. We have both volunteered at two international conferences (on mobile technology and learning, and the comparative education forum) together and enjoy going to the local hangout (Lakers) together for a drink and pizza, the bbq is my favorite. Most recently we went Christmas shopping for ourselves, but together.

Yumi and Sueun are my partners on a group research project for our Introduction to Research Methods course this term. I think we have worked together very well. From the first meeting where we decided on a topic till now it has just fallen into place and I have discovered we all have a love of half price sushi on Wednesday (were we discuss work too of course).

Chandu is my partner on a group project that was just finished for our Chinese Education System Policy and Management course. Our partnership turned out better than expected I think,  though at times it felt less like a partnership and more like my project. He probably asks the most questions in class and is not shy about offering his opinions which at times has caused problems or minor conflicts, but I feel it has gotten better.

Abid may be the only person more vocal than Chandu and he is certainly louder :-) In fact it is sometimes hard to get him to stop talking, lol. He is a good addition to most events cause the conversation is never dull.

Khanh may be more quiet but is very observant and willing to have a good time when the situation is right. I have had the opportunity to have a few discussions and have discovered he has a strong willingness to seek solutions and change in order to improve...a good trait in anyone.

These are just some of my classmates. The rest have equally as interesting things to be said about them, but it will have to wait till another time as it is getting late and I have things to be doing. More to come later.
