well after our night in Maastricht, we were supposed to take the 826 train to Amsterdam..finally around 1030, we made it to the station and got on the next train. Amsterdam is famous for its canals, red light district, and its drug population..we found this out to be entirely true upon arrival..not ten minutes after leaving the station into town, we were approached at least three times by hecklers wanting to sell us stuff..they don't bother you too much after you say NO. we had no trouble finding some rooms, and that night, we found another Irish pub, and stayed put for a while. it was nice and relaxing, and even though Amsterdam is known for its vice, it really is a quite beautiful city..everyone here gets around by bicycle, we hardly saw any cars on the streets..we got to bed early to rest for the following busy day..love.
