In the morning we went out to Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN it was a very pretty drive thru the Tennessee Horse farms and fall colors. Once arriving in town we had never seen so much traffic for such a Little town pop 371. There were cars lined up for ten miles. It turned out to be the biggest day of the year. the world Champion Barbecue with competitors from all over the world including satellite news trucks. We managed to find a parking spot and walked to Jack Daniels tour. Our tour guide was named David and was a real character. I had a lot of jokes but never laughed once. We toured the plant for  an hour. Saw where the mash is fermented, rye, corn, an barley. He opened the vat and you could clear your sinuses with the smell!!!!, It was strong i kid you not.
Jack Daniels produces 30 million gallons of whiskey a year. All from that one distillery, each storage barn holds 6000 barrels. A barrel of whiskey sells for $12000 bucks. Jack Daniels was a very short man and never married. The guide showed us the safe that fell on his foot and killed him..He got gangrene in the foot and died 6 months, The guide said it wasn't woman or whiskey that killed but that dang safe!!!. His nephew inherited the distillery.
In the evening we went to the grand ole opry, the stars that night were Little Jimmie Dickens,Jim Ed Brown, Jeannie Shepard, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, and Oak Ridge Boys. so was a great line up. Little Jimmie Dickens is 88 years old and had some good jokes to tell about his age, its amazing how lively  he still is. He said his wife asked him to go up stairs to make love, he said honey I cant do both!!!, He said his wife said she was old and ugly, she said can you tell me something  positive to make me feel good , he said you have great eye sight!!!
I saw him 23 years ago at the opry with Hank Snow, Grandpa Jones , Roy Acuff and Porter Wagner. Hes the only one alive of the originals
