We had originally booked til Friday, and they have a “no refund for early departure” rule. Not ones to walk away from $60, we are leaving on Friday as planned, even if it means one more day of ant wars. The day was overcast today, with showers off and on, so we decided to go across Silver Strand Blvd to Coronado (the alternative to taking the Coronado Bridge)
. We drove around Coronado, had lunch, and walked around the ferry crossing park area before returning home. While we were gone, they must have had a huge downpour in Chula Vista as everything was soaked and there were puddles everywhere. We spent some time cleaning up our site (hanging wet mats, wiping off the tablecloth, putting away the bikes & bbq), and Roger went a little crazy with some ant spray that he had bought. They seem to be pretty much in check, but you can never be too careful. Lol
We took one last walk on the beach (our last one for this trip, as we’re going inland starting tomorrow) and saw the end of the sunset through some pretty crazy cloud formations from the afternoon’s storm. Tomorrow we are heading to Arizona.

“A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.”
Despite our original thought that we might stay longer in the San Diego area, the last day has convinced us to check out of Chula Vista and get on the road again. We haven't been impressed with this RV Park, and it’s not just the ants. They have rules on their rules. Roger said they have "more rules than Durock". Not sure if any Germans other than Roger’s family play the card game Durock (Roger’s mom is German), but those of us who have married into the family are quick to observe that the rules of Durock are always changing, and new rules seem to appear as the Lapierre citing the rules deems appropriate. We will refer to this park in our memories as Durock RV Park.
