Well, after departing Auckland in the evening, we arrived in Los Angeles in the morning, 10 hours earlier! That international dateline can mess you up! After crashing for a few hours to deal with jetlag, we went walking on the Santa Monica pier, where we saw a movie being filmed. Later, at Bubba Gumps for supper, the waiter said if we looked out the window we might see Paris Hilton. Oh, Rod says, I thought it was just a look-a-like! So we had a small brush with celebrity, though we would have chosen someone else to see if we'd had a choice! We spent the next morning at a taping of Jeopardy! at Sony Pictures Studio. It was great, we got to see 3 episodes being taped, and Alex fielded questions during the "ads" though we didn't ask him any. After a meal on the lovely Third Street Promenade, we watched a beautiful sunset over Santa Monica Bay. Now it's an early start tomorrow to board Amtrak for the trek north. Better haul out our sweaters.
