On Saturday, we had arranged to meet up for lunch with some of my wife's relatives, including an aunt and several cousins, who lived in Kufstein in Tirol near the German border. I had met many of these relatives before during my first visit to Austria with my wife as well as at our wedding in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which several of them made the journey to attend. It also gave them a chance to meet our 1 year old son for the first time.
After lunch, we visited a horse riding school that is owned by my wife's aunt and her husband. We all had coffee and cake and spent several hours just catching up.
Since we needed to be in Basel, Switzerland by Sunday evening, we decided to to travel west from Kufstein and stay somewhere on the way, to save driving time the next day. So we bid farewell to my wife's father and step-mother, who went back to Zell am See, and drove to Landeck in western Tirol, where we spent the night.
