We went for a walk on our final full day on the archipelago and here are some of the critters that we ran into.   can you see why iguanas are so fascinating.  The look on their faces just makes me think they're always happy to see me.  Laugh!

this black eagle was hanging about so not much chance of seeing the illusive snake of the Galapagos.

the sea lions are all over the place again and this time we found quite a few just having some respite from the sun.  Check out the nails coming out of those flippers!

gotta love when you go back through the photos and realise you ate totally in role.  You may notice I am playing an overseas tourist in this shot...?

at the Darwin, there are so many tortoises that it becomes apparent that we can do some stuff right.  It would appear that their future is assured thanks to our timely reversal in our relationship to them - from predator to protector. Excellent work.  They had one tortoise here that was called Lonesome George who was the final one from his island.  They desperately searched for a mate for him from his own area but without success.  He died last year at just short of 200 years old.  There are loads of t-shirts commemorating him...  Awwwww.

Specifically by request for Renee.  They are quite dark in their colouring.

So important.

This is the fish markets and they have automatic cleaning services provided by the locals.  It is absolutely chaotic and hilarious!!

How fabulous to swim with sea lions!! The group photo shows what a disparate bunch of people you all are - bet you have lots to talk about once you've got the language barrier sorted! Party on girl and keep takin' the snaps. j&Pxx

At last I have had the time to catch up with your blog. What an amazing adventure you are having. I'm at Mum & Dad's now, after 5 days in Thailand at Sean G's wedding. It was rather an event. Looking forward to the Antarctica but. Say safe, Love me & Tone (who is in the UK in 2degrees heat!)
