First up this morning was a quick orientation tour of the town of Lucerne, which was really an orientation of where the ladies could shop for clocks, watches and chocolate. We had a quick browse around by foot.

Lucerne is a beautiful, picturesque town filled with quaint cottage style buildings.  Innsbruck and Lucerne are our favourite towns by far.

Next was the highlight of the tour – Mount Pilatus.

Souring high above Lucerne, we travel to its peak via a 30 minute cable car ride.  The scenery is stunning.  Snow capped Alps all around and beautiful lakes and green country side at its feet.  The sound of bells clanging on the necks of cows can be heard around the mountain.

The ride down is on a cog railway train.  The gradient is the steepest in the world at 48 degrees.

Then it was back for more shopping in Lucerne.  Rob went on a shopping spree, while Greg toured the Train museum.

Dinner back at the hotel and early to bed in preparation for the long drive to Paris tomorrow.  Somehow, I think we will be back here one day.
