The overnight flight to Heathrow was rather uneventful. The plane had a seat back tv with Video on Demand with over 100 movies to choose from. I spent most of the flight watching movies including a really funny British movie called "Death at a funeral".  At one point I thought I was going to pee myself from laughing so hard!  I'm sure the guy sitting next to me didn't enjoy this while he was trying to sleep.

I arrived at my hotel in London at about 3pm. It is a "cozy" little place that I found for only 70 pounds. The room is simple... a bed and a small washroom. The bathroom is so small that I can sit on the toilet and shower at the same time.  How efficient!

At this point, I haven't really slept in while, and was feeling really tired.  But who cares! I am in London!  After a quick wash up, I found the nearest Starbucks and had two shots of espresso.  There is no time for sleeping yet!

I set out to the West End to find something to do.  Live theater is a huge here with a dozen shows at different venues.   I managed to get a cheap ticket for Mamma Mia!, a show which was written by two members of ABBA and features their music.  The show was a lot of fun... lots of singing, clapping along with the music and dancing in the isles. (yes... I was dancing).

After the show I still wasn't ready for bed.  I spent a couple of hours walking around the city just soaking in the atmosphere. All of the Christmas decorations are still up, and I have to say, it puts the few lights on the trees on Robson Street to shame.   There are also some more interesting, but less tasteful ways to ring in the season.
