Packed and checked out by 12. Metro to Le Invalides to look at Napoleons tomb (it's big... do you think he was compensating for something??). Walked around the gardens. Peeked in the Musee Rodin gardens. Metro back to near our hotel. Lunch at a restaurant in a little laneway. Steak with béarnaise sauce and apple tart with vanilla icecream. Yum, yum, yum! A nice place for our last meal in gay Paris. So sad to leave Paris again. Such a beautiful city to wander around in.
Picked up by shuttle bus @ 4:20pm... finally made it to CDG @ 6:05pm after we went via Monmarte to pick up some more people.
Had to sit across the aisle from each other from Paris to London as they were the only seats left that were somewhat together. BA lounge @ London was very impressive. Much better than the Qantas lounge in Perth (esp the domestic one). Managed to change our seats for flight to Hong Kong from being the middle two in a set of 4 (yuk), to a window and next seat in a set of 3 and then no one sat in the 3rd seat. Yay! Much better!
Slept for quite a bit of the flight to HK, which was good seeing the in flight entertainment was broken and stayed on the flight path map for the entire 12 hours.
Upgraded to the executive floor by our hotel in HK... although this "free upgrade" involved us paying more... hmmm
Showered and unpacked a little then met up with Fiona & Vincent for dinner at a chinese restaurant in the shopping centre attached to our hotel. Found out tomorrow is a public holiday and also coincides with school holidays so we can expect at least half, maybe ¾ of mainland china to be in HK tomorrow! Oh wonderful we both said. >-p
