Got up at the very un-holiday hour of 6am and went for a hike up the path that goes up the mountain behind Kazzie. Stopped on the way there to take more photos of cats (including a little grey kitten that Sherry now wants to adopt and bring back to Australia).

The path was steep ... but pretty-well maintained and not too long.  Took us about 30min to go up and about 20 to come down again, including numerous stops for photos as the views are stunning.

Roamed around with both wild and domesticated goats at the top of the mountain ... which was surprisingly flat!

Found quite a few old stone buildings, which were mostly abandoned, except for the goat guy's house (that’s his official title you know).  Also found an old army bunker set into the brown rock ... and painted in army camouflage green ... 'cos that will really blend in!

Made it back just in time for breakfast at the hotel. Sat there in our matching Break Your Limits shirts and probably stinking to high heaven!  Thank goodness we did the walk today though as it was a nice day and quite a bit cooler than yesterday.

Feeling a bit tired so rested with a DVD for a while then went out following the Kazzie walking guide around the town.  Highlights included:

-          Blue house used in the Meditteraneo movie

-          A tiny church that was used as a petrol station for a while

-          Australia Square (yes, there really are a LOT of Aussies here)

-          The church where the original Kailis parents got married before they came out to Australia

-          A tomb carved into the rock that was about 2,500 years old

-          The old fort, which was were we watched the sunset and finished our tour

While roaming around on our walking tour, we also happened to be where the taxi drops everyone off at the time it dropped off Mark Kailis and his family ... so Jeff greeted Mark with, "Hi Mark! Welcome to Kazzie!"

Had a phone call from Mark while heading back to our hotel so went to the Kailis’s house and had an ouzo on the balcony with Mark, his dad Peter (who, up until 3 years ago, used to walk up the track we did that morning on a daily basis!), and their family then went out for dinner with Mark and his family to the same restaurant we ate at on our first day (which was great because the food was fantastic and we were planning to go there anyway).

Had a great time and met his lovely wife Natalie, her mum Leonie, and his kids as well.  Mark tried to convince us to rearrange our plans so we could stay on Kazzie and attend the wedding.  Since we couldn’t do this without it costing us quite a bit (plus we both want to spend some time in Paris!), we unfortunately declined.

After drinking far too much ouzo, wine and beer, we headed home and fell asleep ... very quickly!
