This was the last day of our stay in London which means it was also the last day of our holiday.

We're feeling all sorts of things about this:
- can't believe 4 weeks has gone so quickly: looking back at some of the earliest photos, it seems like they were months ago now ... yet the 4 weeks feels like it's gone by in about a week or two (must be a time paradox ... we saw a Dr Who Police box near the train station!)
- had a really great time & enjoyed every place we stayed, but now we're looking forward to getting back to our own beds, having lots of space, seeing our kitty cat again, and not being so packed in with so many other people!
- mostly just a little bit sad that it went so quickly!  4 weeks sounded like a long time but it went so fast and now Sherry's 18 months' of planning have all disappeared.

Anyway, London started the day with beautiful sunshine and blue skies (wow!) and we decided to head over to Notting Hill to see if we could find Hugh Grant or Julia Roberts, then planned to go to the London Eye.  Alas, although we found lots of interesting shops, people and even a travel bookshop with a blue door, Hugh and Julia weren't around.  It's a great area nonetheless - bit like Freo minus the ocean in many respects.

The blue skies had disappeared by this time and been replaced by clouds and rain, so we decided to change our plans and do more indoor stuff instead.

Sherry wanted a photo of the BT Tower, so we stopped off to take a quick photo.  Then all of a sudden, much to the horror of Londoners and tourists alike, there was a terrorist attack!

A giant white kitten leapt out of nowhere and attached itself to the tower!  The tower, being an incredible work of British engineering, stood its ground for a while but was soon no match for the might of the giant kitten.  It quickly fell to the ground under the kitten's attach and the giant kitten ran off to hunt for more buildings to terrorise.

Yes, Kitten Kong had struck again!  We have the photos to prove it!

So ... back to reality ... we continued on to Trafalgar Square and looked up at Nelson's Column and the lions from under our umbrella then went into the National Gallery nearby.  Looked at beautiful artworks by Monet, Manet, Rembrandt, Sisley, Leonardo da Vinci, and many more.

We were running out of time now but Jeff wanted to have a quick look at the British Museum, so we headed over there as well.  Ran around some of the main things there in about 30min then jumped on packed trains to collect our bags and head to Heathrow.

We were very thankful that the station nearest to us has disabled access from the street to the platform (yay - no lugging bags up & down 1,000 steps!).

Heathrow security Nazi's were in force and wanted to inspect the laptop bag and our backpack.  They chucked out Jeff's deoderant as it's a major security threat (we tried to suggest to them that Jeff's underarms without deoderant would be more of a threat to national security but they didn't care since they wouldn't be on the plane!).

[as an aside here, if you're now feeling very concerned about the person who had to sit next to Jeff all the way from London to Singapore, don't worry too much as Sherry saved the day with her roll-on ... so Jeff just smelt like a girl instead]  Just thought you'd really like to know all this.

Flight to Singapore left at 10.30pm, about an hour late - but fortunately we had plenty of time between flights in Singapore so this didn't affect anything.  We both had quite a bit of sleep most of the way to Singapore as we were very tired.

Then arrived back in Perth about 12.30am and were home in bed by 2.30am, which was fine since we were still kind of on London time anyway.

... and that was the Robson Roam Around Europe!

Hope you've enjoyed reading & thanks to all the people who e-mailed us while we were away - it's great to keep in touch and get feedback/comments about what people especially liked.

We normally keep a diary about what we did each day when we go away - mainly so we can remember what we did but also so we can re-live the experiences later!  This is the first time we've put it all online - seems like a great way to do things.

Lastly, Sherry wants everyone to know that all the entries that are sensible are hers, and all the ones that are full of waffle (like this one) are Jeff's. :-)

Cheers, Au revoir, Ciao & see you soon!
