Where I stayed

Flag of Belgium  , East Flanders,
Friday, June 19, 2009

After a eventless ferry crossing we rode the bike onto French soil and immediately stopped to adjust the headlight for RH driving - this proved trickier than the diagram in the user manual suggested, so in the end we had the front of the bike in pieces. Managed in the end.

Then off along the motorway toward Belgium. France was behind us within half an hour, then the joys of working out how Belgian service stations worked.

Quickly arrived in Gent, stopped for a rest then into the centre of this beautiful city for a wander and a kebab. Lots of people out and about enjoying Friday evening. Wonderful architecture everywhere -
great first stop.

Approx 220 miles today.

Now for Lachlan...

Report goes largely as above, so not much else to say.

Dead tired after finishing my exams, so lots of stupid questions but still enjoying the scenery. Got some videos of some stunt bikers showing off in the main town square which I'll have to upload when I get the chance, as well as some piccys to test out my newish camera.

That's all for tonight, will report tomorrow.

2 countries down, 13 to go!

And they're off...
The runners and the riders are off on the steeple chase with the key question on who will win. I'm betting it will be Lachan! Good luck guys especially riding along eastern European roads with pedestrians, horse drawn carts, lorries, cars and the odd gipsy or two all coming at you at once!

New camera?
Hey Lach,
Just curious - what's the new camera? Reading between the lines it's probably a camcorder. Am I right?
I've got a new one too - a Canon HF20.
See you both soon!
