Before we left Denali this morning we went out to where they keep the sled dogs for a demonstration. When we arrived most of the dogs were asleep on top of their kennels, only a few were inside the kennels. You were allowed to walk around & pat the dogs, they are absolutely beautiful dogs & were all Alaskan huskies& are still all working dogs. They use them in the winter to get into parts of the park that are not accessible any other way. Once a few people started arriving they all started waking up & by the time the demonstration was about to start they were getting very excited.They love to haul things & 5 were chosen to haul a sled around a circuit, they were so excited & eager, well worth a visit.
Drove down to the outskirts of Anchorage & stayed at a Walmart again, decided to do Anchorage on the way back up from the peninsular.
The weather today has been quite cold & very overcast & drizzly rain, lots of fog around the mountains. We were so glad we did the bus trip in Denali yesterday, wouldn't have seen much today.
