30/7 Walked along the beach toward Hua Hin but were forced off the beach by an armed soldier. Apparently we were not allowed to walk in front of a royal palace! We chose not to risk newspaper headlines and cut through a building site and out to a main road where we took a tuk tuk to the immigration office. There we discovered that a 15 day visa could only be extended once for a 7 day period and as we don't fly out till the 20/8 that was no use to us. So now we have to plan a day trip from Chiang Mai by bus to the border so we can exit and re-enter with another 15 day visa. At least we will see some more of Thailand that we hadn't planned on.
31/7 lazy day today after our big walk and tomorrow we are going back into town to book our tickets to Bangkok the next day. For some strange reason we can only buy these the day before? Some strange rules here!!!
