We arrived home very happy after a wonderful holiday.
The contrasts between the streets of Kota Kinabalu, KL and Singapore with home are stark. Aside from the obvious comments about differences in weather the places we visited are incredibly bustling ones with the streets arush with people in higher density living mode, highly efficient mass transport systems (not KK with that one). In city centres, shopping figures highly in life but disposable incomes are generally much lower than Australia so we gain a deeper appreciation of what we have and a recognition of the need to maintain the things that are special and precious like our green belts and open spaces.
Singapore is a special place that attracts big volumes of business through its central location and as a result can afford great planning effort with startling and attractive results that we envy. These tend to draw even more people from the region - makes a lot of sense!
We hope you have enjoyed parts of the trip we have been able to share with you through this blog.

Only being serious. Start planning Europe for 2013, I reckon. I won't insist on Amsterdam though, I'm not that mean.
Inheritance? - what inheritance? You have met your mother right? No doubt there are more travels planned!
