After another lazy morning by the pool, we headed off to the Resorts Nature Reserve. They have 4 young Orang-utans from the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre (we will be visiting this centre in a few days time). 2 Orang-utans arrived at the feeding station. It was quite awe inspiring just watching them. You then had the thought of who was watching whom? They were as intrigued by us as we were with them. I am afraid the photos will not do the occasion justice. And the little darlings kept moving all over the place making it hard for them to be good photo subjects. It is sad to think that these wonderful creatures maybe extinct in 10-15 years time unless drastic action is taken. This is due to habitat destruction (mainly due to Palm Oil Plantations). The Otang-utan babies need more care than a human baby and may not be able to look after themselves until they are well into their teens.
