Wherever I travel, I'm constantly inspired by what I see or who I meet to travel more, to explore further and to enjoy the journey into the unexpected and familiar alike.
I travel for myself and to share the experiences with those I meet along the way, but through the ages travellers far wiser and far dumber than me have left a trail of words behind them too. These are a few of my favourites on travel and life:
"Don't be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. One man gets only a week's value out of a year while another gets a full year's value out of a week." - Charles Richards
"Avoid the crowd. Do your own thinking independently. Be the chess player, not the chess piece." - Ralph Charell
"What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? - it's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies." - Jack Kerouac
"Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it." - Johann von Goethe
"Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself." - Henry Miller
"It is better to believe than to disbelieve; in so doing you bring everything to the realm of possibility." - Albert Einstein
"A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral." A de S-Ex
"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly." - Richard Bach
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Pay no attention to what the critics say; no statue has ever been erected to a critic." - Jean Sibellius
"Where your dreams are concerned, be careful not to sell yourself short. Dream a large dream - and then spend the rest of your life making it come true." - Rick Warren
