Where I stayed
An early morning rise and after a quick breakfast on our hotel we visit the main park after the gates open at 8am
This will be an extremely long day as tonight is Disney Halloween and after a short closure of the park the gates re open at 8pm until 1am tomorrow morning with all the visitors and staff dressing up !
Breakfast was good, a large spread of typical continental breads, meats, cereal and cheese etc (cheddar in France - oh la la !!! what is the world coming to.)
Park gates here we come
A fairly quiet start to the park as we arrive at 8.30 and straight into fronteerland. With the main thunder mountain runaway train not working at the moment, its straight onto the haunted house.
Next adventure land and after Swiss family Robinson tree house and a bouncy bridge going via the passage of Aladdin and then to the next big ride - Pirates of the Caribbean a large subterranean boat ride through the exploits of the Caribbean.
Next the dragon in sleeping beauty castle before a quick succession of Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan - a boat ride through story land, Casey's run away train (designed for small children !)and into the classic "its a small world !!! " Wow ! We better stop for a breather !!
Lunch was an all you can eat buffet on Main Street... You wouldn't have thought there was much more to do ! We are certainly getting around.
After then watching the main Disney parade at 3pm and a Halloween dance show it was back to the hotel for a quick rest and get ready for the nights Halloween party !!
Now all dressed as witches, ghouls and warmed up dead people complete with white faces and makeup we then proceeded back to the park with half the in-dead of the world.
Straight onto thunder mountain then the haunted Halloween house complete with live people, back to thunder mountain and then a quick dash to Main Street for the main parade.
Thunder mountain in the dark was awesome... You get the speed and adrenaline rush but due to it being dark you only get glimpses of mountain and railway as you rush along the rail track on the run away train.
Tea just before that as we had eaten at lunch for a main meal was a quick hot dog. Just to show the prices, 1 chicken nuggets (Helen), 2 hot dogs (me and Donna), 3 chips and a drink each came to £40 !!!! Wow and its was not a great hot dog !
The main parade was in the pitch black and with lit up floats with all the main characters it was an amazing experience.
With crowds 5 deep... Then with a quick shuffle to in front of the castle (we got front row standing) and after half an hours wait (in the completely clear full moon sky) the main castle experience started. The water features, lazers, fireworks, fire, in fact the full works the show lit up the castle and the sky for a good half an hour. What a show - amazing.
Tired and dead on our feet 6 ghouls arrived back at the hotel - day one complete !
