Pre Blog

After Simon, Rachel and Leanne arrive at our house at 8am we set off for Folkestone and our 1.50 pm tunnel crossing.

Our 35 minute crossing will see us arrive at Calais and then the 3 hour drive to Disneyland and our hotel for the next four nights, the Newport Bay Club Hotel

Live Blog

So we set off at 7am and apart from a very slow 7 miles of traffic around Stamford which delayed us for around 45 minutes, if not a little cramped with 6 in the car, the journey was uneventful. Helen volunteered to be squeezed into the seat in the boot, together with all the luggage !

On arrival at the tunnel terminal problems started !!! Apparently despite our paperwork saying we were travelling today, Euro tunnel had us down for the 20th October !!! So whilst Euro tunnel and Caravan Club argued who's fault it was time ticked by !!!!

Anyway matter resolved and we finally hopped on the train we were originally going for, despite turning up 2 hour before hand  !!

Another 3 hours (which became 4 due to heavy Paris traffic) and we finally turned into the car park of the Newport Bay Hotel in Disneyland.

Yippee we are here.....

After booking in which took a while as our door was jammed and we had to call maintenance who eventually turned up and showed us the unique way to get into our door... Lets see if it works over the next few days...!

Finally after 12 hours of departing Harrogate we set off on the 10 minute walk to the Disney village for tea.

Evening meal was taken at King Ludwigs Castle a Bavarian themed castle with German based food and the all important German beer. This brings back memories of Tewit's German tour...

Simon and myself ordered a metre of beer, which came with 8 glasses of 20cl of three different beers, looked most impressive on a metre base wooden stand. So a good start to the meal.

Food was mixed but of good quality and after a good couple of hours enjoying the atmosphere we went for a wander around the Disney store at the village which was amazing in itself (trying on all the Mickey Mouse ears etc etc) we finally had a stroll back along the Disney lake back to the hotel and a good nights sleep.
