After the two flights totalling 14 1/2 hours and the usual waiting at airports we finally land at Heathrow at 5.55 am and now have a 5 hour car journey back home.

After a further 12 1/2 hours on our second flight we finally arrived at London Heathrow, quite an uneventful flight apart from a slight problem with Helens TV system which packed in after around 8 hours, despite being reset a couple of times. Finally the main flight attendant pressed a "master reset" button under our seats which reset all three of our screens, that worked for Helens TV but then Donna's would not then work.
I must admit I was really impressed with Singapore airlines, everything from the legroom to the on board facilities and meals and they did all they could with this problem. In the end they could not get Donna's TV to work and so we were given $150 Singapore dollars to spend in the in-flight magazine (around £100 !!!) Helen is now impressed with her new digital pen which records everything she writes on paper onto the computer. This will be so useful in her school work next year.
After the car being returned we then spent a further 4 hours driving up the country back to Harrogate (complete with windscreen wipers going occasionally)
Welcome home Stride family, back to the grey skys and rain... What a fantastic summer weather we are having....
