The china - Hong Kong border can often be a bit of a wait !!! Normally it takes around 2 hours to cross the border

Once it's all done we take the KCR train to central Hong Kong

We take a scenic trip around the harbour on the famous Star ferry then venture to the top of Victoria peak for a birds eye view then watch the harbours spectacular light show

What an end to an amazing adventure

Live Blog

It was a very noisy night and we did not sleep well at all and to make matters worse the train was 2 hours late into the Chinese border - carriage 13 living up to its reputation !!

Once into the Chenzhen station it was a short walk and we left Robert behind as he had to go through Chinese immigration. The strides flew through both exiting Chinese customs and Hong Kong customs and were duly sat at the meeting point, Starbucks Coffee house at 1.15 pm

The rest of the group arrived 45 minutes later with Robert closely behind 10 minutes later.

With proper hot chocolate with creme , tea with cold milk, proper sandwiches and a sausage roll !!! We are FREE !!!

The first thing we noticed about Hong Kong was how clean and tidy the place was. On the express train from the border the streets were clean and tidy and the houses were nicely maintained and when we got out at the middle of Hong Kong the subways were deserted !!!

All the rest of us just wanted our room, a shower and a change. Tara was getting nervous due to no wifi password had been given out !!

We squeezed ourselves into our small rooms, and mean small - there was no room to
Put down the bags on the floor !! The tray with kettle and cups got rejected to the corridor !!

I am not saying the room was small but one of the single beds was 5" shorter in order to get it fitted in !!

Anyway it had a decent shower !!!

At the pre-arranged time we all headed out to the harbour and after confirming we wanted to eat before the light show we all searched for a suitable restaurant - Robert came up trumps again and we had our last meal as a private dining experience - being in Hong Kong the food is more UK Chinese style, so we were all pleased however Evelyn did seem to find an extremely hot chilli !!

We have said during this trip that because there is so much going on that the speed of eating meals has been quite fast, well over the past 18 days this is what we have been training for, we had to eat our entire banquet meal in less than half an hour, but Robert did give us some WiseWords

We have travelled :-

- 5000 + km
- the speed of china - on a bullet time
- The Length of china - on the Great Wall
- The Height of china - visiting the skylines of Shanghai and Hong Kong

He also said :-

- No mountain n than can be higher than your body
- No road that's longer than your feet
- No one dish bigger than your stomach

And we all know the meaning of Yin and yang

Thank you on behalf of the group Robert, you have made the tour and all our experience of china so special.

After our rushed final meal we headed for the harbour and the 8pm light, sound and lazer show

Afterwards a stroll along the harbour side along the parade of stars and saw jackie chan's hand prints in the concrete amongst other famous Chinese stars and finally before heading back to the hotel we called at a very seedy karaoke bar for a final beer together

Great times and a great thank you from the strides to Mark, Evelyn, Tara and Nathan for making this holiday for us so special.
