After the quiet of the villages around Chaing Mai and trekking, back to the capital to see the hussle and bussle of the streets !
After a good night sleep on the train and an early morning awakening we arrived at Bangkok pulling into a minor station at 8am suddenly to find passengers and staff all stood to attention whilst the national anthem is played. Apparently life comes to a standstill at 8am and 6pm every day. Chai requested we all stood up, which we promptly did. A few minutes later we were stuck in taxis in the Bangkok early morning rush hour traffic back to the hotel and a well deserved shower and clean up... Breaking news, clear sky's, hot sunny and a future weather forecast of the same. As this is the end of our northern tour we sadly loose Jason and moshe who are departing on their own.
We also said our goodby to chai our group leader for the last 10 days and wished him well, he will be missed!
A free day saw us taking those fabled tuk tuk rides which take you to every "I have a friend/uncle/brother in a shop" which appears to desperatly needs our visit. After two shops Donna shouted at the driver who reluctantly returned us to the tourist destination that we requested in the first place. A visit to the grand palace saw us hire what looked like pajama bottoms and to add insult they run away with your shoes and all this to see the fabled emerald budda which in our eyes looked like an inch high green Martian to which Donna commented "is that it ?" good job the monks and buddist were not in earshot ! however a spectacular palace despite not being able to see some of it due to a state funeral. We returned our pajamas and returned via mcdonalds (air conditioning!!!!) to the hotel.
6pm saw the remaining intrepid 7 of the northern tour meet a further 9 adventurers for the southern tour and to our surprise chai had been at a last minute swap around appointed our leader for the next 10 days ! Yipee !
An evening meal brought the new guys together and we look forward to getting to know rhianna(oz) mackella (oz), louisa, Nichole (from germany) harriot, matt, Claire , dolly (canada) and Jennifer . Sorry about the spellings I will update as I get to know you all ! An evening meal and back to the hotel, ready for our next big adventure !

Picked up suit this morning. Will look swish at work now! Jacket, two pairs of trousers, shirt, tie, matching cufflinks and tie pin all hand measured, fitted and made in a week for bht 8500 that's around £170 !!! Wow
They still retain your measurements so you can reorder anytime, as long as you don't put any weight on
