Everyone knows the film and the tune, now we are actually going there ! WOW !
Now on the way to river Kwai on a bus. Picture attached of the group, our tour leader ( first row on the right) with the rest of us behind (if you enlarge the picture monkey is hiding somewhere!)
Well we arrived by bus and then the back of a pickup(see attached pictures) and then in the afternoon after yet more rice and thai food we went to see the River Kwai bridge (we arrived along the river on a longtailed boat travelling in excess of 50 mph (well it felt like that) and after a walk accross the bridge and along the railway we again went by boat for a further 3 hours visiting temples, pow museums and finally a cave in a monks "village". Load of pictures today to upload !
For those who are short sighted and could not find monkey in the last picture here she is behind the small creature in the red jumper !
Only 1 hour and its off for tea with the gang... wow and less than 24 hours since we started our tour with them !!!
Keep going guys !

We enjoyed looking at your pictures. They brought back to us a lot of very mixed emotions. A beautiful place but sadly with a horrific human history.
You seem to be a very happy group. The monkey seems to be enjoying himself as well!!
It was great to speak to you last night.
Loved your pictures, looks like you're having a great time. I can't believe how much Helen has grown. Seeing you all makes me miss you more. Lots of love from Debbie
You'll have a new name of 'flower' when you return
